Nuova Fima is a world leading manufacturer and supplier of systems for decoration, inspection, sorting, packaging, palletizing and Laser Guided Vehicles to the ceramic tile industry. Established in 1977 and based in Spezzano, Italy, Nuova Fima designs, produces and sells its products, all of which are highly respected and considered technologically leading in their respective sectors. Nuova Fima was acquired in 2005 by Favonius Ventures Holdings, a Dutch private equity investment firm that decided to invest in the ceramic sector with the aim of building an important group of companies with aggressive strategic goals. Late 2005, as a first step in this plan, Nuova Fima acquired Surface Inspection, the undisputed market leader of automatic inspection systems for the quality control of ceramic tiles. Founded in 1987, and producing systems for the ceramic market since 1990, Surface Inspection with offices in Bristol (UK), Castellon (Spain) and Spezzano (Italy) together with its extensive installation base of over 520 worldwide, has helped to widen Nuova Fima's market penetration.
